12 Day Grudge Match

Yes YES ... we know its been a long time since our last post.  The beta, work, and well Christmas, has had us pinned down. 

But finally - we have time, motivation, and well something.... damn cool.

The Republic: Beta Reveal

For those that have missed Gamebreaker.TV's coverage of the recent media NDA drop might want to check out the show 'The Republic'.  It's one of our favorite news sources for the The Old Republic.

Their first episode can be found here:  Embargo Lift Special.  The follow-up is located here:  Beta Reveals.  The first episode has the main crew covering Larry's initial impressions of the game.  The second show Larry was in a position to give his impression after some period of reflection.

Checked out The Republic for a great source of SWTOR info.  They cover the game with humor, information, and common sense.  They also have a great deal of knowledge about the game which other pods and sites lack.

Keep in mind Larry was only allowed to report up to level 15 on the Republic side.  Larry's focus was on the smuggler and consular.

HanDiego Update - What Have We Learned So Far? The Republic

Revan was not the only news at SDCC...

Apparently Revan was the not only big name at SDCC this year.  Drew's new book was going up against TOR itself....

And thankfully for those of that could not attend #SDCC one of the more popular pods has stepped in for us. The Republic on Gamebreak.tv did a special #SDCC show.   The show runs about 2 hours long and covers a ton of great information. 

Quick summary for those that don't have the time (just the big stuff):

September Beta.  It's coming!
This September they will allow select users to test the game on the weekends in the month of September.

Game Launch

• Sharding intro areas.  Beginning areas only to help control population in the beginning. Basically an attempt to instance off the beginning areas of the game to reduce lag. 
• Reduced number of pre-orders.  BioWare/EA trying to control or phase the game into production.  Trying to avoid slamming the servers on Day 1.  PRE-ORDERs - PLUG IN YOUR CODE ASAP.  Not based on just having a code but when did you enter your code.
• Target Release is Holiday 2011

Game Details

• 900+ Voice Actors used to make the game
• Companions - Skin color can be changed.  Weapons, Armor, outfits. 
• Companions - AI Management.  The ability to manage how your companions function very similar to DA2.  (apparently the only good thing to come out of DA2).
• Vehicles - Adding speeder bikes, land speeders, and other
• 19 confirmed worlds.  However only 17 can bee see on the holocron
• It will take 30 minutes to walk across Tatoonie.

Overall a ton of information from the guys at The Republic.

The Republic Episode 47: EPIC SCROLL!

Gamebreak TV The Republic! Tonight at 6

July 12: 6pm-7pm* The Republic

Great news.  The Republic is back on the air tonight.  Starting at 6pm Game Breaker TV in its new studio will broadcast a show called "The Republic".  Basically a great LIVE summary show that covers that latest news for The Old Republic. 

If your up for it the show can be watched  live.  Or downloaded later via your standard selection of itunes and zune. 

The Republic features Larry Everett from Massively.  A site dedicated to MMO'ing.  Larry is the senior Star Wars writer.  In addition the show is hosted by Gary Gannon who brings his own unique perspective to the show as your standard fair Star Wars fan - much like most of us.
